Florent de Gasperis was born in 1977 near Paris, but he has lived for 20 years in Lyon. Florent takes biology studies and since 2001, he has worked for an aquarium fishes wholesaler in the south of France.

His picture was taken this Summer (2004) in french Guyana by a friend (Fabien Naneix). He had just collected his first Crenicichla albopunctata.
