Conservation: Gambusia sexradiata is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2018). The species is likely to be threatened in parts of its range due to habitat loss and degradation but no specific threats have been reported (Maiz-Tome, 2019).
