Conservation: Lophogobius cyprinoides is evaluated by the international union for the conservation of nature in the iucn red list of threatened species as (LC) least concern (2010). This widely distributed, cryptic species can be common where it occurs in mangrove habitat. There are no known major threats (van Tassell et al., 2015).
